Our Dogs
Gunner
When I worked at a boarding facility in 2017, Gunner used to be my favorite guest. When I found out his current owner was rehoming him, I adopted him immediately. Gunner is our retired foster dog "big brother." He helped so many foster siblings learn about the world and end up in loving homes. He is now a professional couch potato who still loves a good romp in the yard. Gunner has taught me so much about dog behavior and reading dog language. Gunner was the first "bully breed" I ever owned/lived with and I learned quickly about the misconceptions that come with that adorable blocky head. Owning Gunner set off the adventure that was fostering bully breeds.
Star
Star was my first and only "foster fail." When Star came into our home, she was labeled as dog reactive and dog aggressive. After about 6 months, her and Gunner were best buds. Star was adopted from an overcrowded shelter in Atlanta, GA and at this shelter she regularly played in groups with other dogs. After the shelter, Star went into boarding for a few months where her excitement around other dogs turned into reactivity/aggression. Since Star came into my home in early 2020, she has learned to control her excitement around other dogs. Star has taught me so much about how a dog can become reactive, how to live with a reactive dog, and how to empathize with other dog owners going through the same thing.
Chet
When I learned about dog sports I immediately started researching the best type of dog for the job. After over a year of searching and watching adoption sites, I came across a herding breed mix pup who checked all the boxes. I adopted Chet in June of 2022 when he was five months old. Since then, we have taken training classes in Obedience, Rally and Agility. Chet is an AKC Canine Good Citizen and currently competes and hold titles in Rally and FastCAT. We are working hard to earn more titles in even more sports, and having tons of fun with each one!
